Group Supervision: Differential Diagnosis for Case Reports with Board Approved Supervisor Jodi Nilsson

Board Approved Supervisor Jodi Nilsson will be running two once off Group supervision sessions of the differential Diagnoses for Case Reports.

What is the focus of this group?
This group supervision is designed to help understand how to approach differential diagnosis, specifically thinking about the case reports for AHPRA, but also more generally how to diagnose from a broad perspective to hone in and practice differential decision making.

Why is differential diagnosis important for case reports?
A large part of the case reports we complete, both assessment and intervention, are about diagnosis and evidence based treatment. The most important part of diagnosis is the gentle art of differential diagnosis.
Accurate diagnosis leads us to interventions that will work.

What will differential diagnosis group supervision look like?
The focus of group supervision will be a general introduction to differential diagnosis, then focus on interns' own cases for case reports. Where someone doesn't have a specific case to discuss, this is also fine, I will have a few back up cases to demonstrate the common pitfalls and mistakes to look out for.
Differential diagnosis is one of my favourite parts of case report conceptualisation, and in my practice, something I find deeply satisfying. I am hoping I can bring this and excite and inform as many other psychologists in this element of their practice.
